On October 29, 2025, the 6th Session of the 3rd National Technical Committee for Standardization of Mechanical Seals was held in Yushan County, Jiangxi Province. More than 60 committee members and representatives from relevant standard-drafting units across the country attended the meeting.

Wu Zhaoshan, Secretary-General of the committee and a professor-level senior engineer, delivered a work report. The report comprehensively summarized the work in 2025 from five aspects: submitted standards, issued standards, standards to be issued, standard project approval, and standard formulation and revision. It also analyzed the current situation of standardization in the machinery industry and put forward a draft work plan for 2026. The participants fully affirmed the work of the committee and held in-depth discussions focusing on the 2026 standardization work plan, clarifying the key directions for the next step, including formulating standards for emerging application fields, strengthening the leading role of standards, and promoting the high-quality development of the mechanical seal industry through standard improvement.

The Secretariat of the committee publicized three newly issued industrial standards: JB/T 6614-2025 Technical Specification for Mechanical Seals for Boiler Feed Pumps, JB/T 6615-2025 Technical Specification for Boron Carbide Seal Rings for Mechanical Seals, and JB/T 11289-2025 Technical Specification for Dry Gas Seals. Through systematic interpretation of standard content and application requirements, the committee helped enterprises timely grasp technological developments and strengthen the implementation of standards.
